To ensure a truly immersive listening experience, we focused on eliminating static from records, a crucial step to make your vinyl ritual even more enjoyable. After extensive testing, we found the ideal material for our turntable mat: "WASHI." Traditionally, turntable mats have been made from materials like silicone rubber, felt, or cork for their shock-absorbing properties. But we prioritized static reduction, leading us to choose "WASHI" as the perfect solution.

"WASHI" is a traditional Japanese paper crafted from Mulberry tree fibers. Renowned for its durability, it has been used for centuries in Ukiyo-e prints and paper currency. Recently, it has been rediscovered for its aesthetic appeal and functionality, appearing in stationery and interior fabrics. "Un-Ryū Shi," a special type of WASHI, features a distinct fiber pattern that showcases the craftsman's expertise. By combining this WASHI with stone paper as the core material, our turntable mat achieves the perfect balance of mass and flatness, while also reducing vibration, static, and dust accumulation.

Reversible Design to Match Your Mood

The "Un-Ryū Shi," known for its exquisite fiber watermark, has been crafted for centuries at the base of the SHIKOKU Mountains, where premium Mulberry trees grow. The TA-TS30UN features "Un-Ryu Shi" on both sides of the Stone-paper core, with one side in white and the other in light gray, allowing you to customize the look of your turntable platter according to the ambiance of your space. (Note: While the colors differ on each side, the audio performance remains consistent.)

Durable Anti-Warping Stone-Paper Core

Maintaining flatness is crucial for a turntable mat to ensure consistent stylus pressure. To achieve this, the TA-TS30UN uses a synthetic "Stone-paper" core, composed of 80% calcium carbonate and 20% high-density polyethylene. This Stone-paper offers greater weight compared to traditional pulp-based paper, providing the mat with just the right amount of heft while maintaining its flatness even in high humidity conditions.
